The property management team at the Hines owned US Bank Plaza in Minneapolis has an interesting communications challenge on their hands: the North tower can only be accessed on the ground floor. The South tower, meanwhile, can only be accessed on the skyway level (2nd floor). Visitors often found themselves lost trying to find their destination, turning to passersby for help.
With that in mind, preliminary strategy discussions regarding directory board content between AlivePromo, and property management staff focused on eliminating confusion by clearly communicating the tenants in each floor, and how to reach the other tower if they happened to be at the wrong one.
Building Directory Boards
Having settled on a non-touch display directories featuring side by side 46” LCD screens, it was decided to list the tower tenants and their employees on one of the screens in several columns, overlaying artististically rendered building beauty shots.
The right side, meanwhile, provides a list of tenants in the other tower, a five day forecast, a rotating slideshow of building amenities, and an innovative wayfinding solution featuring an animated man walking up and down the building escalators.
Each building directory is powered by the AlivePromo desktop directory management system, allowing for tenant and people information to be updated electronically within minutes, eliminating the plastic inserts that often take 4 weeks to order and are a hassle to replace.
Installation and screen procurement was performed by AlivePromo AV partner Graybow Communications.
Processor procurement, configuration, and networking were performed by AlivePromo. Ongoing creative, scheduling, monitoring and maintenance are performed by AlivePromo from its Minneapolis headquarters.
