City of Buffalo, MN

The City of Buffalo, Minnesota, was looking for a way to distinguish itself from other metro area towns while sending a message that it is a city of the future.  They also wanted a dynamic way to direct visitors to local area retailers while promoting city events.

AlivePromo worked with the City of Buffalo to plan a digital signage kiosk to be added to the heart of the downtown retail area just in time for Buffalo Days June 7-14, 2009.

The innovative kiosk features changeable information on two LCD screens that can be controlled from City Hall.  The fixture, 7-foot high polished metal enclosure, can be seen from a block away, allowing walking connections to be strengthened by the visual energy and informational content.

The kiosk displays animated promotional content and a five-day weather forecast.  Touching a button allows visitors to see a map and retail directory of the downtown Buffalo area.  Logos of local retailers dot the map to provide visual reference of their location.

“The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Buffalo continues to reinvest in the city’s infrastructure and the redevelopment of beautiful downtown Buffalo. The directory kiosk is yet another helpful addition for shoppers, downtown worker and visitors,” commented Buffalo Mayor Naatktgebronen at the time of an unveiling celebration June 4th, 2009..

Installation and networking were performed by AlivePromo technicians.  Ongoing creative, scheduling, monitoring and maintenance are performed by AlivePromo from its Minneapolis headquarters.
